How it plays
As in classic shedding games, cards are played by matching color or animal – but every card comes with its animal sound. On red cards the twist kicks in: make the sound of a different animal! Roar when you should have meowed and you draw penalty cards. The cockatoo stirs everything up once more.
What it trains
Cocotaki is rule-switching training in its purest form: the automatic answer ("cow = moo") has to be actively suppressed on red cards and replaced with another – exactly the mental shifting (cognitive flexibility) many children find hard in daily life. All of it under cheerful time pressure.
